Data Entry Technician

Young at Heart Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Data Entry Technician. As a vital part of our data entry team, you will be responsible for ensuring prompt and professional entering of orders accurately and efficiently in order to correctly provide medications to our customers. Additionally, you will maintain a positive and pleasant demeanor with all customers and colleagues while accurately entering customer requests and processing refill requests.

Responsibilities:
  • Input customer and prescription data into the computer system
  • Ensure accuracy: right patient, right facility, right payor, right physician, right drug, right strength, right quantity, right SIG
  • Ensure prompt service by assisting customers via phone
  • Work directly with customer facilities to enter accurate information
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely manner
  • Work to meet daily SLA
  • Work with order entry team to ensure new and refill orders entered before cut-off time
  • Escalate any issues to Data Entry Lead or Pharmacist
  • Participate in required training
  • Attend all necessary training sessions
  • Review and follow all applicable policies and procedures
  • Provide Back-Up Customer Service functions
  • Participate in required Customer Service training sessions
  • Utilize Lean Concepts to improve processes
  • Document issues and suggestions using CPAS and Rapid Improvements
  • Follow documented procedures to ensure consistency
  • Troubleshoot any order issues as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Active pharmacy technician license from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy preferred.
  • Previous data entry experience.
Working Conditions:
  • Normal working hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with additional time as required based on daily workloads.
  • Saturday shifts may be required to support customers.
  • Participation in the on-call rotation is voluntary, with incentive pay provided.
  • Data entry team members must work well together as a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting and working at a computer for up to 8 hours a day, minus scheduled breaks.
  • Operating a desktop keyboard and mouse.
  • Using a desk phone with either handset or wireless headset.
  • Communicating with employees, patients, caregivers, and physicians by phone, fax, and email in a courteous and professional manner.
