Position Summary

We seek an experienced, compassionate Upper School Counselor committed to supporting students' academic, college, career, and social-emotional development. The ideal candidate brings strong counseling skills, a collaborative spirit, and enthusiasm for working with secondary-level students.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, college, and career, and social-emotional growth.
  • Deliver services through diverse methods, including one-on-one meetings, classroom lessons, presentations, and family education programs.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues through empathy, authenticity, and positive regard.
  • Identify student strengths while helping them navigate and manage challenges effectively.
  • Collaborate with students, families, faculty, and community partners to promote student success and well-being.
  • Connect students and families with appropriate resources, referrals, and community support.
  • Use data to plan, assess, and continuously improve counseling programs and practices.
  • Monitor student progress and recommend adjustments to counseling approaches and school policies as needed.
  • Serve as an advocate for the whole child, championing academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing management of a comprehensive school counseling program.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field
  • Valid school counseling licensure or certification
  • Experience counseling students at the secondary level
