Job description

Essential Job Duties
  • Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate possible hazards.
  • Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
  • Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools
  • Configure pipe routes.
  • Assemble gas piping and equipment.
  • Follow safety standards throughout process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
  • Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
  • Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Class A CDL preferred
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred
  • Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred
