Job description
The Security Manager (FSO/SSO) holds a critical leadership role in managing and guiding LMI's security posture across Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) programs. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph (preferred), and is responsible for supervising security analysts, directing security operations to ensure strict adherence to federal, contractual, and company policy requirements. Reporting to LMI's Vice President of Security, the Security Manager will safeguard personnel, facilities, and other national security assets. This position interfaces regularly with government customers, contracting officers, internal business leaders, and security counterparts at partners and subcontractors.
Security Program Administration
- Oversee physical and technical security programs, including access control systems (e.g., C-Cure), intrusion detection systems, surveillance systems (CCTV), visitor management, and secure facility operations in accordance with ICD 705 and NISPOM requirements.
Personnel Security and Clearance Management
- Direct all aspects of personnel security, including processing and tracking security clearances and accesses for employees, subcontractors, and consultants through DISS, NBIS, and relevant IC portals.
- Develop and maintain effective procedures for employee background investigations, reinvestigations, foreign travel reporting, and management of visit authorization letters and special access badges.
Educational Outreach and Briefings
- Prepare, deliver, and update security education, training, and awareness programs per government and company guidelines (e.g., annual refresher, insider threat briefings, foreign travel, and counterintelligence training).
- Foster a culture of vigilance and security best practices across the organization.
Policy Oversight and Compliance
- Draft, review, and implement corporate and program-level security policies and procedures to align with changing regulatory and legislative mandates.
- Ensure asset protection, classified information safeguarding, and compliance with intrusion detection, access control, and classified material handling protocols.
Audit, Inspection, and Incident Management
- Conduct periodic self-inspections, facilitate DCSA (Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency) reviews, host customer security audits, and oversee response/corrective action plans for findings or observations.
- Collaborate with the ISSM/ISSO on classified cybersecurity requirements and RMF (Risk Management Framework) compliance.
Investigation and Reporting
- Lead and document internal security investigations, adverse information reporting, violation reporting (per NISPOM/ICD/SEAD), and coordinate remediation actions with senior leadership.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Liaison
- Act as primary point-of-contact for security matters with government Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs), customer security officers, partners, and subcontractors.
- Support contracts and business operations staff to ensure all contractual security deliverables and compliance requirements are met throughout program lifecycles.
Experience
- Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in industrial or government security program management, including team supervision
Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of NISPOM/32 CFR 117, ICDs, SEADs, COMSEC, and handling of classified networks (e.g., SIPRNet, JWICS).
- Hands-on experience with clearance processing systems (DISS, NBIS), access control systems, and security incident management tools.
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including policy writing, incident reporting, and security briefings.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
