POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Business Systems Analyst (Finance) to serve as a critical liaison between the Finance department and IT, translating business and technical needs into documented processes and functional requirements. This

role supports the delivery of applications and integrations that meet organizational needs, with a primary focus on the Deltek Costpoint ERP system. The ideal candidate combines financial acumen with technical fluency to improve system efficiency, data integrity, and cross-departmental collaboration.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements for system enhancements, reports, and integrations

  • Serve as a liaison between Finance and IT, ensuring business needs are accurately translated into technical specifications.

  • Document current-state and future-state business processes, workflows, and data flows related to financial systems.

  • Support the design, testing, and deployment of new applications, integrations, and system upgrades affecting financial operations.

  • Analyze existing financial processes to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements.

  • Assist in configuring, testing, and troubleshooting Costpoint modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Billing, Project Costing) in coordination with IT and finance teams.

  • Develop functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for system changes.

  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), including test plan development, execution, and defect tracking.

  • Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.

  • Support data mapping and validation efforts for system integrations and migrations.

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with finance and IT teams to align requirements, priorities, and timelines.

  • Provide ongoing support for system issues, working with IT and vendors to resolve problems affecting financial operations.

  • Assist in change management activities, including communication and training for end users.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • 10+ years of experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, or similar role supporting finance or accounting functions.

Core Skills

  • Experience working with ERP systems required; direct experience with Deltek Costpoint strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional or technical specifications.

  • Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, or integrations.

  • Familiarity with financial processes such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, project accounting, or billing.

  • Strong business process documentation and requirements-gathering skills.

  • Proficiency in creating process flows, workflow diagrams, and data flow documentation.

  • Working knowledge of ERP system configuration and functionality.

  • Ability to write clear functional specifications and user stories.

  • Experience with UAT planning, execution, and defect management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

  • Proficiency in MS Office and process visualization tools such as Visio and Nintex Process Manager.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Familiarity with SQL or basic data querying skills a plus.

  • Project coordination or project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (configuration, reporting, or module administration).

  • Experience with other ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday).

  • Experience with system integrations, middleware, or API-based data exchanges.

Knowledge of government contracting, project-based accounting, or DCAA compliance requirements (particularly relevant for Costpoint environments)..

  • Business analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) or equivalent.

  • Experience with reporting/BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Cognos, Crystal Reports).

  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

  • Prior experience partnering directly with Business Systems Analysts or similar functional/business analyst roles on enterprise software projects.

  • Familiarity with TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) is a plus.
