Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking DevOps Engineers to be responsible for the software design, development, testing, and integration of the Axiom Space Commercial EVA Space Suit software in Houston, TX. The selected candidates for these positions will play a key role in the development of software for commercial human spaceflight systems.
Key Duties:
  • Design, develop, and maintain the current Cloud infrastructure to support a live and dynamic environment.
  • Integrate tools and services related to DevOps into the Cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop documentation, presentations, and training materials related to significant integration efforts with teammates and stakeholders.
  • Understanding and assisting in the development of current DevOps procedures with ideas, automation, and tools.
  • Work assignments within a Linux-based environment.
  • Participate and uphold duties related to collaborating in an Agile Scrum team-based environment.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance in a reasonable timeframe, if needed.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • 5 or more years of related experience.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Experience with Docker for containerization.
  • Strong background in Linux systems.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting.
  • Experience using Git from the command line.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Familiarity with pipeline automation tools and practices.
  • Experience with Scrum and the Agile framework using tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience with Git, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), JAMA, and Confluence.
  • Comfortable with common embedded communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, RS-232/422/485, and Ethernet.
  • Experience working with networking protocols such as UDP and TCP.
  • Working with software development standards such as DO-178C.
  • Experience designing software in UML, such as use-case diagrams, activity diagrams, timing diagrams, etc.
