Job description

The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. You will be required to cover the clinics at Brent Lane, 9-Mile, and Gulf Breeze. 

The Access Specialist serves as the single point of contact for referring physicians and new oncology patients. This position is responsible for receiving all incoming phone calls, web requests, and referral sources and following through with and relevant inquiry information to appropriate clinical team. The scope of responsibility begins with initial inquiry and extends through the start of treatment ensuring that all aspects of facilitating patients diagnostic, ambulatory, and treatment scheduling from the Oncology practice is orchestrated to meet each individual patient needs. The patient needs will be initiated by order placement to Oncology Access Specialist workflow. This position will maximize patient experience and operational workflow within both the Oncology practice as well as BH Infusion Centers. This position will work directly with practice leadership. In order to ensure superior service and appropriate patient care, all pre-appointment requirements including scheduling, authorization, price estimation, financial counseling and pre-registration will be coordinated by this position.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology; records management; and basic computer skills.

  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.

  • Computer literate and experienced in Excel.
  • Customer driven.
  • Proven assessment skills of both people and operations.
  • Accountable for scheduling all BMG Oncology patients for BH infusion and diagnostic service, as well as return ambulatory appointments.
  • Monitors, documents and completes any insurance verification (benefit) requirements.
  • Ensure BHC has accurate and current information to process claims and to obtain payment including complete review of financial clearances.
  • Understands all regulatory agency requirements (i.e. Joint Commission, HIPPA, EMTALA, OIG, and CMS, etc.) as it relates to software under PASS' management.
