ANGOLA HIGH SCHOOL

2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

PART-TIME SPANISH TEACHER | CERTIFIED


Are you a passionate linguist and educator dedicated to fostering global citizenship? Angola High School is seeking a dynamic, certified Spanish Teacher to join our World Languages department. You will lead students through the foundational Level 1 courses up to advanced Level 4 proficiency, preparing them for real-world communication and academic success. This is ⅔ contract position.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Curriculum & Instruction: Design and deliver engaging lessons that are fully aligned with the Indiana Academic Standards for World Languages, utilizing the district’s high-quality instructional materials.
  • Proficiency-Based Learning: Utilize modern pedagogical approaches (such as TPRS or OWL) to develop student skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Inclusive Strategies: Implement research-based strategies, including SIOP components, to support diverse learners and ensure all students achieve linguistic growth.
  • Collaboration (PLC): Actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). You will collaborate with colleagues to analyze student data, share best practices, and develop interventions to continuously improve student outcomes.
  • Classroom Environment: Maintain a positive, culturally rich learning environment that encourages risk-taking and respect for Hispanic cultures.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Participate in available Extracurricular Activities as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Education or a related field.
  • Licensure: Valid Indiana Teaching License in Spanish (9-12) or immediate eligibility to obtain one.
  • Language Proficiency: High level of Spanish fluency; ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) certification of "Advanced-Low" or higher is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Completion of Safe Hiring Solutions' expanded background check, including the Department of Child Services index.


COMPENSATION

  • Rate of Pay: To be determined based on experience according to the Master Contract
  • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Benefit-eligible position
  • Indiana Teacher Retirement Fund Contribution-eligible position (Pension)


Start Date: To be determined based upon School Board and Superintendent approval.
