Job description

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As Senior Director, Sports Marketing, Running/Track & Field (NA & APLA), you will be the senior leader and central connector across brand, business, and sport. You will lead Nike's North America and APLA athlete portfolio, partnering closely with Geo GMs and cross-functional leaders. You will serve as the primary point of contact for external agents and partners. You will work day-to-day with the Global Running/T&F Business Director and Athlete Development Director and report to the VP of Global Running & Training Sports Marketing.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As the Senior Director, Sports Marketing, Running/Track & Field - NA & APLA, you will lead & drive the strategy of our NA & APLA Professional Athlete Portfolio. You will do so in close partnership with a x-functional team of experts & counterpart to help build the world's #1 Athlete portfolio. You will lead process and set direction for NA and APLA Field Reps in the day-to-day work of seeking, signing & servicing our NA & APLA portfolio as well as manage associated budgets, strategic plans & key relationships.
  • 15+ years related & relevant industry experience highly preferred
  • 7+ years people management highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
  • Established relationships & tenured experience in Running are highly preferred.
  • Excellent portfolio of accomplishments for leading complex & highly visible projects.
  • High level of understanding how to work alongside and manage high-profile relationships.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to present and communicate to senior leaders
  • Innate ability to communicate and work across all geos, languages, and cultures while welcoming diversity of thought.
  • Proven track record of managing against a budget, creating tracking tools, and providing leadership updates on status.
  • Project development process knowledge (mainly Keynote, Excel, and Air Table)
  • Proven ability to prioritize workloads, adapt in real time, engage and influence diverse x-functional teams to drive towards a common goal.
  • Up to 25% international and domestic travel required.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
In this role, you will sit as a member of our Running Sports Marketing leadership team. The key deliverables you will own and drive will be:

  • Lead with confidence, courage, and compassion.
  • Drive the planning and goal setting of Nike's Performance Excellence (PE) process and developmental plans for your team of Field Reps.

  • Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
  • Develop an integrated strategy to inform invest/divest decisions. Close partnership with VP Running / T&F, Director Europe & Africa, Business Director and Field Reps.
  • Continuously look to improve our process around operations to ensure our athletes have a world class experience with the Nike Brand.
  • Monthly review of strategic plans to ensure accuracy.
  • Monthly review and reporting on the budget to the Running/T&F leadership team.

  • Own & Drive Athlete Seek & Sign process based on aligned Metrics & KPIs
  • Assist & influence athlete integration plans with Brand and Business partners

  • Stay informed on current industry news and share information with team.
  • Continue to build and maintain strong relationships with agents, coaches and other industry partners. Attend external meetings where necessary to build on those relationships.
  • Lead the integration and collaboration efforts with North America and APLA Running Brand and business teams a partners.
