Overview

QBE, LLC is seeking a Cyber Information Systems Analyst - Junior - Tier 1 to provide front-line cybersecurity monitoring and operational support for NIH/OD-OIT.


This position is primarily remote but will require some TDY.


Responsibilities

Monitor cybersecurity alerts, events, dashboards, and queues.

Perform initial review and triage of security alerts.

Create, update, and route cybersecurity tickets and incident records.

Follow established procedures and escalation criteria.

Collect relevant event and system information for higher-tier analysts.

Document investigative actions and findings.

Assist with routine security monitoring and reporting.

Review alerts for potential false positives and known benign activity.

Support shift handoffs and operational status reporting.

Escalate suspicious or potentially malicious activity in a timely manner.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, information systems, business, communications, or a related field, or an additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of the degree requirement.

No prior professional cybersecurity experience required.

Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, networks, operating systems, and common threats.

Ability to follow documented procedures and escalation processes.

Strong attention to detail and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented operational environment.

CompTIA Security+ certification.

Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation, Public Trust determination, or security clearance associated with the position.


Preferred Qualifications

Internship, academic, laboratory, or entry-level experience in cybersecurity.

Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, ticketing, or security monitoring tools.

Knowledge of common network protocols and security events.


Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.

Ability to communicate effectively through virtual and in-person meetings.

Ability to perform duties in an office, remote, or hybrid environment based on program requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (for remote opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
