Job description

Overview

Open Ventures Group LLC is hiring an experienced Construction Superintendent to serve as the on-site leader for an active construction project located within an operating airport environment. This is a senior, hands-on field leadership role for a construction professional with a verifiable track record running jobsites of comparable scope. Because this project operates during active airport hours, this role works night shift.


Airport Access Requirements (Please Read Before Applying)

  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check administered by the airport authority/TSA and obtain airport security badging/credentials as a condition of employment
  • Disqualifying criminal history under airport authority badging requirements will prevent placement on this project, please do not apply if you are unable to pass this screening
  • Must be able to work overnight/night-shift hours consistently, including weekends as required by the active project schedule


Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or industrial projects, please list specific past projects, scope, and dates on your application
  • Able to provide verifiable references from prior employers/GCs who can confirm your role and performance
  • Experience working within active, occupied, or restricted-access facilities strongly preferred (airport, hospital, government, or similar)
  • OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 10 alone will not be considered)
  • Working knowledge of construction budgeting, sequencing, and critical-path scheduling
  • Strong leadership, conflict-management, and decision-making skills under time pressure
  • Familiarity with construction management software (Procore preferred)
  • Ability to pass drug screening and any background/security checks required by the airport authorit


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site leader with full responsibility for schedule, cost control, safety, and quality on the assigned project
  • Provide continuous hands-on field supervision of all trade partners and construction personnel during night-shift operations
  • Coordinate closely with airport authority personnel and security escorts to ensure compliance with all access and operational restrictions
  • Monitor project schedule and critical path, keep the Project Manager informed of daily progress via logs and walkthroughs
  • Enforce safety program requirements with all trade partners and suppliers
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections, deliveries, and material logistics around active airport operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure jobsite at all times
  • Conduct daily quality inspections and manage punch-list completion through closeout
  • Communicate professionally with airport staff, client representatives, and vendors on-site
