Registered Nurse / RN - Emergency Department - Full Time
Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift | 72 Hours per Pay Period
Estimated Salary Range: $74,430 - $101,790 annually ( $39.75-$54.25/hour )

Are you an experienced RN ready to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment? Join the Emergency Department team at Arnot Health, where every moment counts. As a Full-Time RN in the ED, you'll be at the frontline of urgent and emergent care-playing a critical role in rapid assessments, life-saving interventions, and patient stabilization.
Located in the Southern Tier of New York, our region offers a rare combination of professional fulfillment and peaceful living surrounded by lakes, trails, and close-knit communities.
Emergency RN Job Responsibilities
Deliver Responsive, Life-Saving Care:
Assess, triage, and treat patients across the lifespan in a high-volume emergency setting. Perform interventions with speed, precision, and compassion.
Monitor Patient Stability:
Continuously evaluate and document vital signs, symptoms, and treatment responses. Initiate emergency protocols as needed to preserve life and prevent deterioration.
Collaborate with ED Teams:
Work closely with emergency physicians, techs, and specialty staff to execute care plans and respond to rapidly evolving patient needs.
Provide Emotional Support & Education:
Offer clear communication to patients and families in high-stress situations. Educate them on discharge instructions and follow-up care.
Maintain Safe, Efficient Workflow:
Follow all emergency care protocols, infection control practices, and documentation standards. Assist with flow and transitions of care within the unit.
Requirements
Licensure & Certifications:
  • Active RN license in New York State (or eligible/limited permit)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS and PALS strongly preferred (or must obtain within 6 months)
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN accepted)
Experience & Skills:
  • 1-2 years of ED, ICU, or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a team environment
