Job Description: SHIFT SUPERVISOR - NIGHT WATCH
Time commitment: 40 HOURS PER WEEK
FTE: 1.0, SALARY, EXEMPT FROM OVERTIME
Reports to: RESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR
The Night Watch Shift Supervisor is responsible for the direction of the night-watch mentors as well as the
physical safety and security of each student during nighttime hours. They complete direct-care duties as
well as train night-watch mentors to meet the needs of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Orientates and trains new mentors
  • Attends weekly training meetings on Telos' policies or procedures with his/her staff
  • Creates rewards and discipline for mentors on shift
  • Generates night watch mentor shift assignments
  • Coordinates scheduled activities/appointments
  • Is trained in medication administration as per Telos' policies and procedures
  • Administers medications as ordered by the doctor
  • Charts in each student's medical record under mentor
  • Assists/Leads AWOL procedures
  • Supervises mentors and students in emergencies
  • Performs and assists in searches of students upon admission, after off-campus passes, and when AWOL students return
  • Enforces the Telos security and visitation policies and procedures
  • Provides training to night watch mentors as needed, but at least once a month
  • Communicates and reports to the Residential Director
  • Performs all the responsibilities of a mentor
  • Monitors and maintains boundaries surrounding lights-out and bedtime protocols
  • Enforces student rules as needed
  • Supports and assists all other Telos departments in various job descriptions (i.e., nursing, general cleaning and maintenance, answering telephones) as allowed by staffing ratios
  • Participates in assigned committees or special assignments

Restrictions/Prohibitions:
  • No sleeping
  • No apartment abandonment
  • Must provide your own food or eat snacks set aside for Night Watch
  • Only one headphone in at a time while on shift

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Timely
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a behavioral health-related field
  • Ability to hold appropriate boundaries
  • Ability to receive feedback
  • Ability to receive and carry out instruction
  • Genuine care and concern for others
  • Ability to stay awake and perform duties through the night
  • Exceptional relationship skills
  • Capacity to train staff
