Position Overview

ATCS is hiring a Highway Traffic Control Technician to support safe, compliant work zones across metro Atlanta. This role is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control devices for construction, utility, and roadway operations. You’ll work directly in active roadways, ensuring crews, drivers, and pedestrians stay protected. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and remove lane closures, flagging operations, detours, and work zones

  • Place cones, signs, barricades, arrow boards, and other MUTCD‑approved devices

  • Direct and control traffic using proper flagging techniques

  • Monitor work zones and adjust setups for safety and flow

  • Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and the traveling public

  • Maintain equipment, vehicles, and signage in clean working condition

  • Follow all GDOT, MUTCD, OSHA, and company safety standards

  • Complete daily reports, time logs, and incident documentation 

  • Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather

  • Reliable transportation to job sites

  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in high‑traffic environments

  • Strong situational awareness and safety focus
