Job description

We are looking for a Material Handler!

Night Shift - $21.10 + $1 shift premium

Job Summary:

The material handler is responsible, according to process and procedure, for handling and monitoring quality of material that will be converted into finished product; finished product; packaging materials; and related scrap that results from converting and other associated processes.

The role includes:

  • Supplying departments with Virgin, Regrind, & Additive materials.
  • Performing the job effectively and efficiently to meet production volume expectations posted daily.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the job are performed safely and in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Exhibiting teamwork and maintaining accountability for monitoring and promptly correcting quality issues as they occur.
  • Learning and adhering to the job requirements and expectations as set by the company.
  • Following all company policies and procedures diligently.

In addition to these responsibilities, the material handler uses a manual pallet jack to move and position empty and full pallets of product. The role also involves the use of RF scanners to track inventory, creating and attaching load tags, and manually wrapping/stretch wrapping loads as needed. Material handlers may utilize a lift assist device to stack boxes onto pallets and are expected to operate a forklift (training will be provided for this if needed).

Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to learn SAP for production reporting
  • Applicants must have a good attendance record
  • Consistent and timely in the performance of tasks
  • Must be flexible in daily job assignments
  • Must be able to perform accurate work
  • Must follow all GMP & Food Safety procedures.
  • Frequent handling of 4000 lbs +/- of Roll Stock
  • Frequent handling of 1500 lbs +/- of Material in Gaylord's
  • Standing on feet up to 12 hours a day
  • Use of hands to write for labeling, counting, and reporting
  • Withstand extreme heat temperatures occasionally
  • Good leadership and team skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Analytical / problem solving skills

Schedule:

  • 12 hours shift: Night Shift 6:00 pm to 6:00 am
  • 2-2-3 work schedule
