Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a general adult/pediatric emergency department requiring an active IL license and prior travel experience.

Details
  • Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
Requirements
  • Active Illinois RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of ER RN experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • NRP certification preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted
  • Experience with a variety of ER conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
  • Skilled in triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and management of dysrhythmias
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Perform skills such as IV therapy, central line care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
  • Previous permanent or PRN employees of the hospital system must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Travel pairs are not accepted
  • Housing in the area may be limited, so early planning is recommended
