Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.
Responsibilities
*Shift: This is a 6:00pm-6:00am 12 hour night shift role.*
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will coordinate and supervise distribution staff. Areas of responsibilities include
hiring, training, and directing all employees, ensuring that all products are distributed/received
to company and customer specifications.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an
obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities,
related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to
reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assumes personal responsibility to ensure safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs
and tasks.
• Leads and coordinates the work of distribution employees ensuring compliance with
company policies relating to work rules, absenteeism, discipline, payroll, hiring,
performance reviews and terminations. Maintains proper documentation.
• Resolves operational, warehousing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimal cost
impact and prevent operational delays. Ensures proper and necessary equipment is
available.
• Monitors warehouse inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and prevent shortages or
overstock situations.
• Prepares and delivers comprehensive reports on distribution activities, performance
metrics, and other relevant data.
• Adheres to quality work practices, follows GMP's, maintains sanitary conditions and
ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or
practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
• Handles daily employee scheduling, time off, training on safety and emergency
evacuations, PPE, Hazcom, etc.
• Reviews KPI performance, and operating reports to ensure optimal operations.
• Manages capital projects and participates in organizational teams and committees.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies
and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure
that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices
that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a similar field
• Minimum of 2+ years of previous supervisory experience preferably within a high-volume
warehouse or distribution center.
• Hands-on proficiency in forklift operations and previous certifications and training within
Powered Industrial Trucks
• Computer proficiency within Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP/TRM software
• Effectively supervising, coaching and developing employees
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Experience in leading teams on multiple shifts to support production operations as well as
experience within customer and carrier interactions and communications
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills.
• Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision.
• Must have strong organizational skills and ability to do multi-functional tasks.
• Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required
• Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) is a plus.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations.
• Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels
including management.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or
schedule form.
• Computer skills required, including MS Excel and Word, SAP experience preferred
The pay range for this position is $72,498 - $101,497 per year.
