Obstetrics Registered Nurse

Black River Health has immediate openings for a Registered Nurse in the OB Department. As an Obstetrics RN, you'll support mothers, babies, and families through labor, delivery, and the postpartum experience. Every shift brings the opportunity to make a lifelong impact while being part of a supportive and collaborative team. This position is required to float to other nursing departments as necessary, to meet patient care needs. This position is located at Black River Memorial Hospital:

SHIFT: Night Shift Weekender - 72 hours per pay period with required holiday rotation BONUS: Full-time licensed Weekenders earn a 33% bonus on all weekend hours worked, paid each pay period! This is a great way to increase your earnings while providing essential weekend care.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Provides individualized patient and family-focused care throughout the patient's stay. Anticipates changes in patient care needs.
  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and take appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and demonstrates competence with required registered nurse competencies. Has thorough knowledge of the various kinds of medications administered.
  • Assess labor progression, and manages induction of labor and cervical ripening. Performs fetal heart monitoring, and neonatal assessments. Recognize and manages neonatal sepsis.
  • Competently manages obstetric medical emergencies (prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, placental abruption)

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS certification within 1 year of hire
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire
  • Current licensed Wisconsin RN
  • Electronic Fetal monitor Certification with 2 years of hire
  • OB experience required
