Rigger - Nuclear
A rigger is a skilled professional responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining cables, pulleys, winches, and other equipment used to hoist or move heavy loads. This role involves loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment on construction projects.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform all job duties safely according to job requirements.
  • Perform craft-related math.
  • Demonstrate proper use and care of craft-related hand tools.
  • Assist with crane movement and setup using hand signals.
  • Maintain a clean work area and ensure good housekeeping.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Perform light rigging (under 10 tons).
  • Perform heavy rigging (over 10 tons).
  • Setting up, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery.
  • Selecting the appropriate rigging gear.
  • Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.
  • Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
  • Perform cleanup duties.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired.
  • NCCER or NCCCO Certification
  • Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements.
  • Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools.
  • Availability for shift work, if needed.
  • Ability to support other crafts as requested.
  • Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels).
  • Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures.
  • Ability to pass specific training and qualifications.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
