CMM Operator / Quality Inspector – Night Shift

4-Day Workweek | Monday–Thursday | 3:15 PM–1:45 AM

Precision Matters. Quality Matters. Your Work Proves It.

We’re looking for an experienced CMM Operator / Quality Inspector to join our night shift in a high-precision CNC machining environment.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing dimensional inspections on precision-machined components using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other inspection equipment. You’ll work closely with our machining and quality teams to verify parts meet customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

If you have a strong eye for detail, understand dimensional inspection, and enjoy working with precision components, we want to hear from you.

Schedule

  • Monday through Thursday
  • 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM
  • Full-time night shift

What You’ll Do

  • Operate CMM equipment to inspect precision-machined components.
  • Load, position, and properly fixture parts for inspection.
  • Select and run established CMM inspection programs.
  • Review CMM inspection results and identify dimensions that are approaching or outside tolerance.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Understand and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) requirements.
  • Use additional precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, bore gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Accurately document and record inspection results.
  • Communicate inspection results and nonconformances to machinists, supervisors, and Quality personnel.
  • Help ensure nonconforming product is properly identified and controlled.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and a clean, organized inspection area.
  • Follow established quality procedures and inspection requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience operating a CMM in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Experience inspecting precision CNC-machined components strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to accurately interpret inspection results and identify out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support production during night-shift operations.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

CMM programming experience is a plus, but not required.

Why This Position Matters

Our customers rely on us to manufacture precision components that meet demanding dimensional and quality requirements.

As a CMM Operator, you’re one of the final lines of defense between production and our customer.

You’ll help our machining team identify issues early, verify that processes are producing conforming parts, and ensure the components leaving our facility meet the requirements of the drawing.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision, consistency, and getting the details right.

Why Join Us?

  • 4-day workweek
  • Work with high-precision CNC-machined components
  • Modern manufacturing and inspection environment
  • Opportunity to expand your CMM, GD&T, and quality inspection experience
  • Stable, full-time position
