The Machine Operator is responsible for efficiently operating multiple machines across different workstations in a production of custom air filtration solutions. This role requires flexibility to move between machines based on production needs while also assisting with tasks related to receiving and warehouse operations. The individual will ensure smooth machine operations and accurate material handling for uninterrupted production flow.
Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Machine Operation:
    • Operate and monitor multiple machines across various workstations, ensuring each machine runs smoothly and efficiently.
    • Troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
    • Ensure that machine setups are correct and adjust them according to specifications and requirements.
    • Perform regular checks on equipment for maintenance needs and report any mechanical issues.
    • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards while operating machinery.
    • Monitor the quality of products during production runs and identify any defects or deviations from standards.
    • Maintain documentation related to production outputs, machine settings, and materials used.
    • Assist in maintaining proper records of materials received and dispatched from the warehouse.
  • Warehouse and Receiving Duties:
    • Receive incoming shipments, check products against purchase orders, and verify quantities.
    • Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate team members.
    • Unload and store products or materials in their designated locations within the warehouse.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records, including updating stock levels and notifying supervisors of low stock.
    • Assist in the preparation and staging of products for shipment or machine use in production.
    • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials to production areas.
    • Operates forklift as necessary to move materials and products within the warehouse.
  • Cross-Functional Support:
    • Float between multiple machines based on production demands, ensuring minimal downtime.
    • Collaborate with supervisors and machine operators to ensure efficient workflow and address any production delays.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in both the machine area and warehouse space.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs, and technical documentation into actionable tasks.
  • Strong understanding of production equipment, including framing machines, laser cutters, and filter grid manufacturing machinery, or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn relevant safety regulations.
  • Proficient with software for documentation and record-keeping.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures and manufacturing inventory requirements.
  • Proficient in keyboarding and using inventory management software or databases.
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or completion of a related apprenticeship program preferred.
  • At least one year of related experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally with experience in machine operation and metal fabrication.
  • Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Forklift operator certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that may require frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced for quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate machines and equipment with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift as needed to handle materials.

Base Salary: $20-$25 Hourly, Non-Exempt
Day Shift: MON-THUR 8:00pm to 6:30am
