Job description

JB Harris Logistics LLC is searching for experienced Freight Agents! As a freight agent/broker, you will serve as a liaison between shippers and carriers.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Freight Broker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with carriers and shippers, negotiating freight rates, and ensuring the efficient transportation of goods.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and shippers to ensure their freight needs are met.
  • Negotiate contract terms and rates with carriers.
  • Coordinate and manage the transportation and movement of goods.
  • Utilize logistics software to manage freight schedules, track shipments, and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and laws related to freight transportation.
  • Handle the billing and invoicing for freight services.
  • Proactively identify and solve logistical problems to prevent delays.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transactions, correspondences, and documentation.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Freight Broker or in a similar role in the transportation industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with logistics software.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
