As of Jul 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for night shift film rigging in the United States is $20.76, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.87 and $23.80 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

In the film industry, high-level roles such as top-tier directors, producers, and studio executives can earn $1,000,000 or more annually, especially with successful projects and profit-sharing. Night shift film rigging roles typically do not reach this income level, as they are specialized technical positions with lower salaries. Achieving such earnings generally requires extensive experience, industry connections, and involvement in large-scale productions.

How to get into film rigging?

To get into film rigging, start by gaining experience in construction, carpentry, or stage setup, as these skills are transferable. Learning to operate rigging tools and understanding safety protocols are essential, and many riggers gain certifications in rigging or working at heights. Building a network in the film industry and seeking entry-level positions on set can also help establish a career in film rigging.

What is the easiest job to get on a movie set?

On a movie set, entry-level roles such as production assistants or set runners are often the easiest to obtain, as they typically require minimal experience and serve as a starting point for careers in film production. These positions involve basic tasks like assisting crew members, handling equipment, and supporting daily operations, often requiring good communication skills and a willingness to work long hours. Gaining relevant certifications or experience in film or technical skills can improve chances of securing these roles.
