ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

If you're someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, and helping construction teams execute work safely and accurately, we'd like to talk with you. As a Night Shift Field Engineer, you'll play a critical role in supporting some of our most complex projects through layout verification, quality control, documentation, and project coordination. You'll work closely with superintendents, project managers, trade partners, and self-perform crews to ensure work is installed correctly and progressing according to plan. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, comfort with construction technology and field equipment, and a willingness to take ownership of project outcomes. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Field Engineering & Layout

  • Perform surveying and layout activities using GPS, total stations, levels, and other field technology.
  • Verify formwork, embeds, elevations, and critical dimensions before concrete placement and installation activities.
  • Support field teams by interpreting drawings, specifications, BIM models, and construction documents.

Documentation & Quality Control

  • Maintain accurate daily reports, quality control documentation, checklists, and project records.
  • Support submittal, RFI, change order, and drawing management processes.
  • Assist with project quality control efforts to ensure work is installed according to project requirements.
  • Utilize Procore and other construction management platforms to maintain project documentation and communication.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with superintendents, project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to coordinate project activities.
  • Gather quantities and field information to support cost reporting and project tracking.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate field updates, challenges, and progress to project stakeholders.
  • Help ensure alignment between field execution, project schedules, and project objectives.
YOU'RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-4 years of commercial construction experience in field engineering, project engineering, or related roles.
  • Experience utilizing construction technology, layout equipment, and construction management software.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work night shift hours and maintain a consistent site presence.
