Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the operation and troubleshoot the extrusion process of the production equipment and personnel to established standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Collectively with the Superintendent oversee the safe operation of the entire production floor.

Maintain proper staffing levels to enable the execution of the production schedule.
3. Provide supervision, technical support and direction to all employees assigned to the machine group.
4. Periodically perform line checks.
5

Follows company procedures and enforce company regulations.
6. Work with Quality Assurance Department to resolve quality issues.
7. Coordinate with the Compounding Department and Plant Management to ensure material is available for extrusion.

Report breakdowns and equipment problems to the Shift Maintenance.
9. Direct housekeeping efforts to maintain work area clean and hazard free
10. Enforce material packaging standards and scrap segregation requirements.

Receive and direct in-coming phone calls during non-business hours.
12. Perform routine administrative duties
13. Troubleshoot tooling and machine problems and provide feedback to Production Superintendent
14

Coordinate with Fine Tuning any fine-tuning adjustments needed to correct profile deficiencies or instability.
15. Fill in for Supervisors or Extrusion Technicians on vacation or absences with other Supervisors.
16. All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: In-depth knowledge of the extrusion process, familiarity with machining processes, Mechanical Aptitude, Mathematical ability, Judgement, Planning, Organizing, Controlling, Oral and Written Communication, Courage to Act, Ability to Delegate, Working Under Pressure, Motivating Employees, Drive & Initiative, Flexibility, Tact & Diplomacy, Accuracy, and Timeliness, Basic Computer Skills a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GED, High School Education, previous Manufacturing experience, or five (5) years experience Extrusion Operator/Technician.
