Job description

Hotel Security

We have an exciting opportunity for Hotel Security professionals at the iconic Hard Rock Hotel San Diego — where music, energy, and luxury meet in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.

Center Stage in Downtown San Diego

The Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is electric — from nightlife and concerts to conventions, VIP events, and every unforgettable moment in between. Our Security team is critical to keeping the show running smoothly. You are the calm in the chaos, the reassuring presence in the crowd, and the professional who ensures safety while delivering high-touch hospitality.

As part of our Security team, you'll protect our guests, staff, and property while upholding the legendary Hard Rock experience.

Your Mission

As a member of our Security team, you are confident, observant, and quick on your feet. You know how to step into challenging situations with professionalism and ease — prioritizing safety, service, and de-escalation.

You're not just providing security; you're enhancing the guest experience by ensuring every person on property feels safe, supported, and welcomed.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities

Patrol hotel grounds, parking areas, hallways, restaurants, event spaces, and back-of-house areas to maintain safety and visibility

Respond promptly to disturbances, safety concerns, noise complaints, and guest or staff reports

De-escalate difficult situations with professionalism, confidence, and clear communication

Escort disruptive or belligerent guests off property when necessary

Maintain and secure assigned keys and access points

Partner with local law enforcement when needed

Escort team members to and from their vehicles

Ensure all housekeeping closets and restricted areas remain locked and secure

Additional Guest-Facing Responsibilities

Assist guests with luggage when needed

Support valet operations in the absence of valet staff — including parking, securing, and documenting guest vehicles

Deliver gracious, guest-focused service at all times

Report maintenance concerns promptly

Handle lost and found items according to policy

Perform additional tasks as assigned based on business needs

You're a Rockstar Fit If You…

Communicate clearly, calmly, and confidently in stressful or evolving situations

Know how to de-escalate conflict with professionalism and tact

Are comfortable approaching and redirecting guests respectfully

Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Can drive stick shift and all vehicle types

Are reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance

Have strong English communication skills

Thrive in an energetic, fast-paced luxury hotel environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift or transport at least 50 lbs

Ability to push/pull up to 250 lbs

Comfortable with extended periods of standing and moving

Able to work in various weather conditions

Willing to perform repetitive physical tasks

Must wear closed-toe, non-skid shoes as required PPE

Why Join Hard Rock Hotel San Diego?

Legendary Brand: Become part of a globally recognized hospitality icon

Dynamic Environment: Work where nightlife, luxury, and high-energy events intersect

Rockstar Culture: Be surrounded by teammates who bring passion and purpose to every shift

Growth Opportunities: Advance your career with a company that believes in internal development

Let's Rock This Together

If you're ready to bring confidence, professionalism, and heart to a role that supports guest safety and enhances every experience, we want you on our stage.

Apply today and help ensure every guest feels like a VIP at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego.
