Responsibilities & Qualifications
Novelis is seeking to add Production Associates (Night Shift) to our Lincolnshire facility. Starting pay $21.59. Benefits start on your first day of employment. This position supports the manufacturing departments for specific productions needs. It is an ideal stepping stone to other job opportunities as one of the main functions of this job is training for positions at different work centers.
  • Hours - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a 3-2-2 Rotating Schedule
  • Hourly Rate - $ 23.02per hour
  • Night Shift Premium - $1.50 per hour
  • Weekend Pay - paid at time and a half
  • Benefits - start your first day of employment with us and include medical, dental, and vision
    • Other benefits include disability and life insurance as well as paid holidays
    • Immediately eligible for the 401(k) plan and Company match up to 2.5%; plus Company contributions of 4% after one year.
  • Vacation - 40 hours of vacation after successfully completing 1250 working hours; 80 hours of vacation at 2 years
  • Advancement - New employees will have the opportunity to bid for higher paying Operator positions as these positions become available

Responsibilities Include:
  • Is knowledgeable and follows plant safety rules and departmental safety practices.
  • Manufacturing support services for the cold mill, annealing, tension line, strand line work centers, as well as the lab.
  • Provides assistance and break relief.
  • Packs/wraps coils.
  • Expedites scrap handling in the work centers.
  • Expedites core preparation and handling in the work centers.
  • Provides assistance in lab.
  • Maintains housekeeping.
  • Must train and qualify in the following areas:
  • Material Handling at Mill.
  • Entry/Exit - Strand and Tension Lines.
  • Scrap.
  • Pack Line.
  • Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a leader in safety. Is a safe worker who demonstrates concern for personal safety and safety of others. Must demonstrate a willingness to participate in plant safety initiatives.
  • A high school level education is required. Post high school education preferred.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and be capable of self-direction.
  • Good verbal communication skills are required.
  • Basic computer and math skills are required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Must be capable and willing to train in other job classifications.
  • Good decision-making skills are required.
  • Must possess a basic knowledge of hand tools and possess a mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous manufacturing experience and material handling experience are preferred.
  • Must be flexible as job focus and assignments may change daily and by the hour.
