Jersey Beverage Network is a well-established, family-owned beverage distributor that fosters a strong, employee-focused company culture with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for our Night shift to assist with directing the daily activities and operations of the night shift.
This position is a great opportunity to learn about the beer and beverage distribution industry and expand your warehouse operations management skills.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Night Shift Manager supports the Night Manager in directing daily warehouse operations and night shift activities. Ensures high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency during the daily operations of the night shift activities. This position reports to the Night Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight: Directs night pickers and warehouse personnel to ensure all loads are accurate and the proper package is configured by pallet for driver offloading.
  • Problem Solving: Serves as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries; troubleshoots operational issues and manages / reports load changes by printing updated invoices/load sheets.
  • Leadership: Acts as the primary backup for the Night Manager; identifies and suggests process or operational improvements to leadership.
  • Inventory & Safety: Monitors and reports any potential inventory shortages during loading procedures and ensures strict adherence to all operational and emergency procedures.
  • Reporting: Maintains clear communication with the Night Manager and VP of Operations regarding shift performance and warehouse needs.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Operations Expertise: Deep understanding of warehouse logistics, inventory documentation, and product coding.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong verbal/written skills with a proven ability to lead a team and perform conflict resolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Thinking: Sharp attention to detail with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.

Education and Experience:
  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant warehouse or supervisory experience.
  • Systems: Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods and traverse all areas of the warehouse.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and maneuver 165-lb kegs using proper techniques/tools.
  • Comfortable working in a loud production environment with varying temperatures.

Compensation:
  • Pay starts at $60,000/annually
