Job description

Hi ,
Greetings from Pro Integrate Consulting !
 Hope you are doing well.

Data Moderator

Location: Seattle, WA

Duration: 3+ months

Must own CAR and commute throughout the project duration (shouldnโ€™t come back stating Car is broke down etc.)

Job description Data collection moderator:

As an Orbit Project data collection moderator, you will visit participant homes to conduct video data collection following detailed project guidelines. You will guide the participants throughout the ~7 hours of collection. While collection is ongoing, you will perform on-site quality checks to confirm the session was captured correctly, then upload the data in real-time to our online portal. You''ll manage the on-site equipment, keep the session on schedule, and follow our night-shift safety protocols throughout.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Travel to participantsโ€™ homes in the service area during overnight hours for scheduled sessions. (Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Renton, Tacoma, Federal Way, or surrounding cities)
  • Gather consent and NDA forms from participants
  • Set up a standardized camera system and manage video recording equipment under low-light and nighttime conditions.
  • Guide participants about the project as per project guidelines
  • Record scenarios and calibration videos as per the guidelines
  • Update the project app in real-time for each session - this is a required part of the role, not optional.
  • Answer participant questions and provide support during sessions
  • Review and perform QA on collected data
  • Check and maintain the inventory equipment, before and after each session
  • Troubleshoot issues and report problems promptly, including escalation to the after-hours support contact.
  • Follow all night-shift safety protocols without exception, including the moderator buddy system and shift check-in/check-out calls.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Comfortable and alert working overnight/graveyard-shift hours.
  • Confident working with troubleshooting technology, especially video recording, including in low-light conditions.
  • Comfortable working with the public, including late at night, and calm under the added demands of overnight work.
  • Able to learn detailed procedures quickly and follow written guidelines completely and precisely.
  • Able to complete scheduled tasks independently, away from an office, while adhering to required safety protocols.
  • Comfortable communicating via phone, text, or app during a shift, including with an after-hours support contact.
  • Willing to commit to a fixed overnight schedule for the duration of the engagement.
  • Prior experience as a data collection moderator is strongly preferred, to minimize ramp-up time.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 tools and comfortable adopting the project field app as a standard, required part of every session.
  • In possession of a reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle - access is required given overnight travel between homes.
  • Open to using their personal vehicle for any vehicle-based scenarios, conducted at low speed in well-lit areas per project guidelines.
  • Fluent in English

Compensation & Logistics

  • Mileage reimbursed for travel between participant homes.
  • All recording and collection equipment provided; moderators are responsible for its care and nightly inventory checks.

Night-Time Safety & Support

Night collection is a new extension of Orbit, and safety structure for it is being built deliberately rather than carried over unchanged from the daytime model. The following are the baseline protocols moderators will be trained on before their first overnight shift:

  • Moderators always work in pairs for every overnight session; solo overnight home visits are not permitted.
  • A check-in call or text with the on-call PM/safety contact is required at the start and end of every shift.
  • A designated after-hours escalation contact is available throughout each overnight shift for device, participant, or safety issues.
  • Participant homes are pre-screened by the Scheduling team for overnight suitability (lighting, parking, accessibility) before a night session is assigned.
  • Moderators complete a night-specific safety orientation, covering situational awareness, well-lit parking and equipment staging, and emergency contact procedures, prior to their first shift.
