Mission Community Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated
Per Diem House Supervisor for the Night Shiftto join our nursing leadership team. As a
145-bed hospital, Mission Community Hospital is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the diverse community we serve.
The Per Diem House Supervisor provides hospital-wide clinical and administrative oversight during assigned night shifts. This role supports safe patient care, staffing coordination, patient flow, and day-to-day hospital operations while serving as a key leadership resource for nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hospital-wide supervision and leadership during assigned night shifts.
- Coordinate staffing based on census, patient acuity, and hospital needs.
- Support patient flow, admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed placement.
- Respond to clinical emergencies, Rapid Responses, and Code Blue events.
- Serve as a leadership resource for nursing staff, charge nurses, physicians, and other departments.
- Address patient, family, staff, and operational concerns as needed.
- Escalate significant clinical or operational issues to appropriate leadership.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete required shift reports and documentation.
- Promote a collaborative, professional, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Previous Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
