Job description

As a Nutrition Services Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of patient dining, retail food service, catering, and food production while leading a dedicated team focused on quality, safety, and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of patient meal service, retail dining, catering, and food production.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Nutrition Services team members.
  • Create schedules, manage staffing needs, and ensure appropriate shift coverage.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP standards, infection prevention practices, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory management, product ordering, PAR levels, and FIFO practices.
  • Address customer concerns and promote an exceptional dining experience.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support departmental performance goals.
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of food service experience.
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification within six months of hire.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or a related field.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Healthcare food service experience.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification.
