As a Nutrition Services Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of patient dining, retail food service, catering, and food production while leading a dedicated team focused on quality, safety, and outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of patient meal service, retail dining, catering, and food production.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Nutrition Services team members.
- Create schedules, manage staffing needs, and ensure appropriate shift coverage.
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP standards, infection prevention practices, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Assist with inventory management, product ordering, PAR levels, and FIFO practices.
- Address customer concerns and promote an exceptional dining experience.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support departmental performance goals.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of food service experience.
- Strong leadership and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification within six months of hire.
Preferred
- Associate degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or a related field.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Healthcare food service experience.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification.
