Job description

Summary
This position is located at Fort Lee, VA - DFMWR Outdoor Recreation.

Duties
Help
  • Registers patrons, collects usage fees, issues targets and sales ammunition and other resale items.
  • Provides instructions on the rules and safety of the range and paintball fields. Monitors patrons for compliance with rules and safety and corrects violations immediately.
  • Assists patrons by pulling for skeet, trap or 5-stand. Unloads supplies and stocks clay target machines.
  • Helps maintain assigned area/areas in clean and orderly condition sweeping, moping, dusting, removing trash, etc.
  • Schedule tour of duty will require evenings, weekends and holiday work hours. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be able to work during the hours of operation to include nights and weekends.
  • The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees whether fulltime or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Duties may require some physical exertion, e.g., handling and/or cleaning equipment, stocking clay target machines, climbing stairs, etc. Individual must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and 25-100 pounds with assistance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position.

Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
  1. Applicant must be 18 year of age.
  2. Must have a valid motor vehicle license.
  3. Must possess good customer service skills.
  4. Knowledge and ability to use a computer and cash register.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • At least 6 months experience performing related duties described above to include knowledge of paintball and clay target sports.
  • At least 6 months experience working on a shooting or paint ball range.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

  • This job is open to candidates who who reside within a 30-mile radius of Fort Lee. (Military Spouses moving to the area within 30 days from the closing date of this announcement and Involuntarily Separated Military (ISM) members claiming ISM Preference are included in this area of consideration.)

  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
