Job description

Job Title: Night Facilities Coordinator (Night Shift)
Department: House Operations
Reports To: Senior Facilities Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Date Revised: August 2026
The Night Shift Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the North Druid Hills location of Ronald McDonald House Atlanta during overnight hours. This hands-on role addresses maintenance needs and provides back-up support to the Night House Manager to ensure smooth after-hours operations. In addition, the Facilities Coordinator must be able to provide support at the Peachtree Dunwoody House when needed and respond to emergencies as required. This is a full-time, on-site position with a regular schedule of Sunday through Friday, 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Essential Functions Maintenance & Monitoring
  • Conduct hourly walk throughs of the NDH facility, inspecting for safety, maintenance, and cleanliness concerns.
  • Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or adjusting thermostats.
  • Complete overnight preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain orderly storage, utility, and mechanical areas throughout the shift.

Safety & Emergency Support
  • Monitor all safety systems (fire panels, security systems, emergency exits) and respond to alarms or facility-related emergencies.
  • Document and escalate urgent building or mechanical issues to the Facilities Manager or on-call leadership as appropriate.
  • Address any environmental hazards (e.g., leaks, spills) promptly and safely.

Support for Night House Manager
  • Act as a backup point of contact for guest needs related to facilities or urgent safety concerns.
  • Assist the Night House Manager in ensuring the overall safety and readiness of the House overnight.
  • Communicate clearly with the Night House Manager and provide support as needed during family emergencies or incidents.

Transition & Reporting
  • Provide detailed overnight shift notes and updates for the daytime Facilities team.
  • Ensure tools and workspaces used during the shift are cleaned, secured, and ready for the next day.

Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of facilities, general maintenance, or building operations experience.
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours and respond calmly in emergencies.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance tools.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to use technology for documentation and assignment process.

Preferred
  • Previous experience working overnight in a residential or healthcare-related setting.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm and security system protocols.
