Job description

Job Description:
Summary:
The Flight Coordinator will be a licensed EMT or higher level licensed health care profesisonal with outstanding communication skills for high profile emergency medical services consisting of multiple aircraft operating from multiple bases. The Coordinator will gather and coordinate all information pertaining to a flight request and has many responsibilities inherent to the overall success of the daily operational logistics. Additionally, the Coordinator will utilize radio and telecommunications equipment, a Computer Aided Dispatch system, map reading skills, geographical knowledge, weather reporting systems, and flight following procedures. This individual will receive incoming radio calls from EMS to appropriately triage and communicate information to the appropriate facility regarding ETA and patient status. Coordinator duties also include central dispatch for Ballad Health ground transportation units. This individual will support the activities of the Regional Medical Communications Center for EMS region 1 in NE TN including comprehensive drills and data processing. The Coordinator will require the ability to adapt to new environments quickly, be able to work well under stressful conditions, and capable of multi-tasking. This position demands a high level of concentration with the ability to work at a fast pace.
Requirements:
Minimum two years experience in Emergency Medical Services or Emergency Telecommunications. Should be knowledgeable in radio procedures and medical terminology. Within on year of employment, must complete and be certified by NAACS.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active EMT license in appropriate state or higher level licensed health care profesisonal.
