Position Summary

The General Manager serves as the entrepreneurial leader of the hotel and is responsible for the overall success of the property. This role oversees all hotel operations while driving revenue, controlling expenses, maximizing profitability, delivering exceptional guest service, and developing a successful team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead all hotel departments, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Laundry, and Sales.
  • Execute all company and brand initiatives, policies, and procedures while continually improving operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, internal audits, and all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage labor, forecasting, budgets, and profit-and-loss performance to achieve financial goals.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, pricing, and revenue management initiatives to maximize profitability.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop team members.
  • Foster a positive work environment through coaching, recognition, and employee engagement.
  • Oversee inventory management and purchasing while maintaining budget expectations.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly administrative functions, including scheduling, labor reporting, night audit verification, and guest review responses.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial reports.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests, employees, and company assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent management experience, preferably in hotel, restaurant, or retail management.
  • Previous profit-and-loss management and budgeting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with sales, revenue management, and rate/yield strategies preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound business decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for hospitality and operational excellence.
  • Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification is a plus.
  • Relocation may be required; relocation assistance is available.
