Job description

PURPOSE: The Experiential Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing events at Mall of America, Nickelodeon Universe, and Crayola Experience. Working closely with internal departments, vendors, sponsors, and community partners, this role coordinates event logistics, venue bookings, communications, creative assets, and event technology to ensure successful event delivery. Through thoughtful planning and strong attention to detail, this role helps create experiences that drive traffic, sales, ridership, brand awareness, and guest engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the end-to-end planning and execution of Mall, Park and attraction events, including concept development, partner and vendor sourcing, budgeting, scheduling, logistics, implementation and post-event evaluation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for event partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders, providing venue information, coordinating requirements, and supporting the planning process from booking through execution for public facing events.
  • Assist with various community relations events and projects as coordinated with the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager.
  • Coordinate event logistics with internal operational partners, including Security, Operations, Engineering, Guest Services, Tenant Relations, etc.
  • Track and evaluate event results, including attendance, engagement, traffic, revenue, partner feedback and other established performance measures.
  • Ensure all necessary safety measures and permitting requirements are in place and in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Identify and develop relationships with potential event partners and sponsors.
  • Work with new tenants on store openings and existing tenants on in-store and common area events.
  • Assist with MOA internship program, as it pertains to marketing programs and events.
  • Provide creative ideas to make Mall of America, Crayola Experience and Nickelodeon Universe events unique and attractive to potential guests.
  • Maintain the organization of the department including, but not limited to:
    • Photo archives, video archives and the wall photo project
    • Office forms, Promotional Events Handbook, CADs
    • Event storage rooms and event equipment inventory.
  • Answer guest questions and provide assistance before, during and after events
  • Additional duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • BA or BS degree with emphasis in Marketing or Business Management
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in events management and coordination.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills required.
  • High level of creativity, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work and respond effectively under pressure
  • Ability to follow building codes, fire and health regulations.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com and social media apps
  • Experience creating event materials using Canva or a similar design platform.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays.

Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will continuously allow them to be aware of their surroundings and respond to the needs of the role.
