Fire Sprinkler Technician, Commercial, North Charleston, SC - DOE
Take-home company truck once you're cleared. We pay for continuing education, including NICET certifications and exam fees, as well as performance and certification bonuses. North Charleston-based, commercial only.
NextGen Technologies has been doing commercial fire protection in the Charleston market for years. We're hiring an experienced Fire Sprinkler Technician for our commercial crew: inspection, testing, maintenance, and service of wet, dry, and specialty sprinkler systems. If you've been inspecting and servicing on commercial job sites, we want to talk.
What you'll do
  • Inspect, test, and maintain commercial sprinkler systems to code
  • Work with sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components
  • Perform hydrostatic testing on fire department siamese connections
  • Perform fire pump testing
  • Complete inspection documentation and service reports
  • Coordinate deficiencies with the service required to correct them
  • Schedule and coordinate with building supers and porters
  • Run service calls, troubleshoot, and respond to after-hours emergencies
  • Instruct customers on proper system use and maintenance

What we need
  • 3+ years hands-on commercial fire sprinkler experience
  • Working knowledge of fire safety codes and standards
  • NICET I preferred. Not required. We'll pay for you to get it.
  • Valid SC driver's license and clean MVR
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs alone (100 with assistance), working above 10 feet, and working in confined areas
  • Able to stand for long periods and to lift, crouch, reach, push, and pull. Able to work in extreme heat and cold and around loud noise.
