NICET Level III Fire Sprinkler Designer

Location: Southeast U.S. | Hybrid


Position Overview


We are looking for an experienced NICET Level III Fire Sprinkler Designer to join an established, family-owned fire protection company serving commercial and industrial projects across TN, AL, GA, KY, NC, and SC.


This is an opportunity to join an established, family-owned organization with a strong reputation in fire protection, where experienced professionals have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and grow within the design and engineering team.


The ideal candidate will have strong fire sprinkler design experience, be comfortable managing multiple projects, and have hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and HydroCAD or SprinkCAD.


What You'll Do

  • Design fire sprinkler and suppression systems for commercial and industrial buildings
  • Create piping layouts and drawings using AutoCAD
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and sprinkler head placement
  • Ensure designs meet NFPA 13 and local fire/building codes
  • Work with contractors, engineers, fire marshals, and field teams
  • Coordinate BIM/3D drawings
  • Manage approximately 3โ€“5 projects at a time, ranging from $100K to several million dollars
  • Perform occasional site visits, primarily day trips


Must Have

  • NICET Level III โ€“ Water-Based Systems Layout
  • Fire sprinkler design experience
  • AutoCAD
  • HydroCAD or SprinkCAD
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing
  • Ability to read architectural/engineering plans
  • Revit experience is a plus.
