Overview

New Hope Services (NHS) is proudly celebrating 65 years of service to Southern Indiana and our extended service area. NHS has built the capacity to provide a full continuum of human services from child and family support through ability services. Our unique expertise in developing affordable housing allows us to also partner with the communities we serve to have an even greater positive economic and community development impact.

Starting Rate: $15.00/hour

FT or PT - Hours: 10am - 6pm, Mon - Fri

Direct Support Professionals in this role serve individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Provide services that are essential to reducing the effects of a disability experienced by the client
  2. Assure Client dignity, confidentiality and safety within the program at all times
  3. Be accessible, flexible and cooperative to work in multiple direct care programs, as deemed necessary by your Supervisor
  4. Provide accurate and daily written documentation in a timely manner that addresses all program requirements
  5. Ensure that all individual billing and related documentation is submitted to management per program expectations. End of business day for on-site services, 36 hours from shift completion for off-site services.
  6. Follow Transportation Policy when transporting clients using either personal or company vehicles
  7. Must have access to the internet to maintain communication and submit needed documentation electronically

GENERAL DUTIES:
  1. Perform tasks as requested and held directly responsible to the Supervisor
  2. Complete all annual tests and trainings on or before deadline, including but not limited to TB test or chest x-ray, SCM, CPR, First Aid, and BBP Certifications, Core A/B, ISP/PCP, Incident Reporting, Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation, Documentation, Transportation, and Relias Modules
  3. Serves as a positive role model, exhibits high ethical standards, and promotes the mission and values of NHS
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must possess a high level of patience and tolerance, and the desire to assist others to reach their potential
  2. Ability to work as a team member and take direction in order for team to accomplish goals and objectives
  3. Must maintain a working cell phone for EVV and ADP
  4. Must possess a valid state driverโ€™s license, proof of insurance coverage per company policy, and have a reliable transportation

EDUCATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. 1-year experience preferred with individuals that have developmental disabilities and/or functional impairments
