Job Title: Consultant in Adult Psychiatry
Grade: Consultant
Location: Pontyclun, Glamorgan
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate: Competitive - details to be discussed upon application
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Mental Health to join our NHS client in Pontyclun, Glamorgan. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive and progressive mental health service, offering both inpatient and community-based care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualised treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient and community settings
• Participate in service development, teaching, and supervision of junior medical staff
• Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act and uphold high standards of clinical governance
Qualifications & Experience
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)
• Extensive experience in adult mental health, ideally across both inpatient and community settings
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-working skills
