Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. 


The Building Security Officer position has a Commitment to Excellence in guest service, while providing necessary safety and security support to guests visiting the PPG Paints Arena. This position will staff the Employee Entrance and the Command Post. 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.00.

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until September 25, 2026


As a leading entertainment venue, PPG Paints Arena is the regional epicenter for athletic events, concerts, and family shows in Western Pennsylvania, and home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.


  • Deliver superior guest service while ensuring proper building and governmental protocols are being followed.
  • Respond to requests for assistance from staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.)
  • Ensure all safety and building guidelines are being followed, and proper security checks are conducted during guest entry.
  • Assist in the control and safety of all guests that visit the facility.
  • Ensure crowd control stays at a reasonable level and assist in emergency situations and conflicts as needed.
  • Interact with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the facility.
  • Provide directional assistance, as needed, by being knowledgeable about locations throughout the facility.
  • Provide professionalism, courtesy, and respect to all guests and fellow employees.
  • Building Security Guard may be called upon to provide shift breaks for Guards located at entrance Gates.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Prior security experience required; experience in large venue preferred
  • HSD/GED preferred.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
  • Ability to work daylight, evening, overnight, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
  • Must maintain a neat and professional appearance that conveys professionalism at all times, whether in the office or out of the office, particularly during events.
  • Professional business attire required when working all events.
