Job Description
Position Summary:
Relief International is looking for an intern with our Human Resources department, starting as soon as possible. The position will gain hands-on experience in human resources processes and best practices. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in an International NGO. The intern will work closely with the team in Los Angeles, CA and have the opportunity to interact with others across the organization. The HR Intern will learn how an organization approaches and cultivates relationships with individuals and corporations. Students may receive course credit for internship.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assist Surge Roster coordinator in managing and maintaining Surge Roster databases.
  • Under supervision of Surge Roster coordinator, write internal and external communication messages as needed.
  • Assist with Surge Roster reference checks under supervision of Surge Roster coordinator.
  • Assist with the filing of staff documents in online file management system.
  • Help HR with special projects as needed.
  • Assist with administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
  • Dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • 15 hours minimum; M-F varied schedule
  • Professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Second language desired
  • Knowledge of Excel and basic word processing
  • General knowledge of world affairs and international/intergovernmental institutions.

Additional Information
Salary: Unpaid, daily transportation stipend and academic credit available. Relocation is not offered.
