Job description

NextGen Federal Systems (NextGen) is currently seeking to fill multiple Principal Software Engineer positions with staff who have experience supporting Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) programs. Selected candidates will participate in the entire software development lifecycle including participation in the design, development, deployment and implementation of software products throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle. The candidates will be part of the development team operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The selected candidates will be required to develop software in a variety of software development languages and environments.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or closely related
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required

Qualified candidates must have strong software engineering backgrounds with the following skills and expertise that are highly desired:
  • Object-Oriented (OO) Programming skills with modern development languages
  • Agile software development practices and tools (e.g., Scrum, Jira)
  • Modern cloud-computing software and tools including distributed computing platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Micro-services, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Modern data architectures and tools: Python, MATLAB, IDL, Java, JavaScript / Typescript, NodeJS, C++
  • Frameworks: Angular, Spring Boot, Vue, QT, React
  • Database modeling: OpenSearch Dashboards
  • Algorithm development, database design, UI/UX
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Test-Driven Development Methodologies (JUnit)
  • Web and SOA technologies, visualization technologies, image processing, database and/or geospatial (GIS) technologies
  • Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle including agile development processes, tools, and methodologies
