Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of students’ mental health needs, employing evidence-based methodologies to establish a deep understanding of their challenges and strengths.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with each student’s specific needs, incorporating various therapeutic modalities tailored to their circumstances.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on promoting resilience and coping strategies among students.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, assessments, and treatment progress in compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Engage in regular collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to provide holistic care and support for students, including teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in social work practices, participating in ongoing training and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The students you will serve come from diverse backgrounds and face a variety of personal challenges, including trauma, behavioral issues, and emotional distress. Your role is central to helping them build coping skills, resilience, and self-confidence. By utilizing solution-focused therapy, you will assist each student in their journey towards healing and academic success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid License as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with students and their families effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Experience or strong interest in working within a remote school setting, with an understanding of youth mental health concerns.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings or mental health environments is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and culturally competent therapeutic approaches.

Compensation and Benefits

Next Step Wellness Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
