Job description

About Clix
Since 2011, Clix has built a reputation on performance-driven digital marketing for clients across dozens of industries. We keep our clients' strategies ahead of the curve so they stay competitive and achieve the business and marketing objectives that matter most.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and ship frontend code across a portfolio of client sites, spanning both legacy platforms and modern web builds.
  • Support ongoing website maintenance across client accounts, including updates, fixes, and performance improvements as needs arise.
  • Implement integrations that turn a codebase into a shippable, indexable, on-brand client site: maps, reviews, analytics, deployment, and data freshness.
  • Enforce SEO foundations in code: structured data, canonical and indexation logic, meta implementation, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Work from scoped briefs and deliver review-ready artifacts. Flag back when ground-truth is needed rather than guessing.
  • Operate and contribute to our internal AI-assisted development workflow. Within your first few months, we expect you to be improving it, not just using it.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage domain and DNS configurations across client accounts, ensuring accurate setup, routing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership on decisions, quality reviews, and process improvements.
  • Invest in your own professional development, particularly in frontend development, agentic AI tooling, and the evolving web standards that shape how we build.

Stack

Modern builds: Astro, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind. Mobile-first, performance-focused, accessibility baseline.

Legacy: WordPress themes, plugins, custom blocks, ACF. The legacy book is real and remains a meaningful part of the role for the foreseeable future.

What You Bring:

  • 3 to 5 years of professional frontend development experience.
  • Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals and modern React patterns.
  • Hands-on WordPress competence: themes, plugins, custom blocks, and basic PHP comfort.
  • Demonstrated experience building with modern frontend frameworks: Astro, Next.js, SvelteKit, Tailwind, or similar. Objective background in these tools is preferred over theoretical familiarity.
  • Experience engineering and developing with agentic AI tools: ChatGPT Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or equivalent. A real story about where these tools helped, where they fell short, and what you learned is more valuable to us than a certification.
  • Experience with Figma for design handoff and collaboration, including Figma AI and Claude Design, is preferred.
  • A strong eye for UX. You think about how users move through a page, not just how the code is structured. This is a core part of how we build and a meaningful differentiator for this role.
  • Strong instincts for performance, accessibility, and on-page SEO basics.
  • The editorial judgment to know when output is good enough to ship and when it isn't.
  • Comfort working from a brief and delivering something a non-engineer can review and sign off on.

Strong Preference

Location: St. Louis, MO or Little Rock, AR preferred. We place a high value on in-person collaboration. Remote-onshore candidates will be considered for the right fit.

Why Clix?

  • A real, working agentic development environment you can shape as it matures.
  • Direct collaboration with technical leadership on meaningful work from day one.
  • Honest exposure to the AI-native shift in agency work. This is the role where you grow fast.
  • Clear progression tied to demonstrated outcomes, not tenure.
  • Competitive compensation, 401(k), health benefits, vacation, holidays, and a professional development budget.
