Its popularity in building scalable, high-performance web applications ensures ongoing demand for developers skilled in Next.js, especially as web development continues to evolve toward faster, more dynamic sites.

Is Next Js has future?

Next.js is a popular React framework used for building server-side rendered and static websites, and it continues to evolve with regular updates and new features. Its strong community support and adoption by major companies suggest it has a promising future for web development roles, especially for developers skilled in React, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.

What are some common challenges Next.js Developers face when working on large-scale applications?

Next.js Developers working on large-scale applications often encounter challenges related to performance optimization, such as ensuring efficient server-side rendering and managing code splitting for faster load times. Job description

Job Summary:
General Medicine is a company focused on simplifying healthcare shopping. They are seeking a frontend engineer to develop a consumer healthcare product on the web, owning significant parts of their Next.js application and ensuring a high-quality patient experience.
Responsibilities:
• Help build and scale a healthcare store that makes it delightfully simple to shop for any type of care.
• Own major surfaces of our Next.js application — from search and scheduling to provider profiles and checkout.
• Obsess over every detail of the patient experience.
• Work closely with design to nail interactions and micro-details.
• Make pragmatic frontend architecture decisions — component patterns, state management, data fetching strategies, performance optimization, and testing.
• Be willing to work across the stack when needed.
• Write product requirements documents, write SQL to understand how features are performing, and own QA.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3+ years of experience building production web applications with React
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern React patterns (server components, hooks, data fetching)
• Experience with Next.js or a similar framework (routing, SSR/SSG, API routes, caching)
• A strong eye for UI quality — you notice when padding is off by 4px and it bothers you
• Experience with frontend performance optimization, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Comfort working with RESTful APIs and understanding backend data models
Preferred:
• Familiarity with modern backend frameworks is a plus — we use Ruby on Rails and Postgres
Company:
General Medicine is a newly launched, nationwide healthcare platform. Founded in 2023, the company is headquartered in Salt Lake City, USA, with a team of 51-200 employees. The company is currently Growth Stage.
