As of Jun 24, 2026, the average hourly pay for newspaper classified in the United States is $14.97, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $7.21 and $20.19 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A newspaper classified job typically does not pay $10,000 a month without specialized skills or experience. High-paying roles in sales, real estate, or entrepreneurship may reach that level, but they often require strong communication skills, networking, and industry knowledge rather than formal degrees.

Can you still find jobs in the newspaper?

Jobs in the newspaper classifieds are still available, though their prevalence has decreased with the rise of online job boards and company websites. Many employers now prefer digital platforms for posting openings, but some local or small businesses continue to advertise jobs in print newspapers. Job seekers can find opportunities by checking both print and online listings, and some newspapers offer digital editions with classified sections.

What kind of jobs are there at a newspaper?

Jobs at a newspaper include roles such as reporters, editors, photographers, graphic designers, advertising sales staff, and circulation managers. These positions require skills in writing, editing, photography, layout design, and knowledge of publishing tools, often working on a daily or weekly schedule in a newsroom environment.

What is a Newspaper Classified job?

A Newspaper Classified job typically involves managing, editing, and organizing classified ads for a newspaper. This can include handling customer inquiries, ensuring ads meet publication guidelines, and arranging them for print or online formats. Classified jobs may also require proofreading, formatting, and sometimes sales-related tasks to attract advertisers.

What are some typical daily tasks for someone working in Newspaper Classifieds?

In a Newspaper Classified role, your daily tasks often include assisting clients with placing classified ads, proofreading and editing submissions, and entering ad details into the newspaper's publishing system. You may also coordinate with the sales team to upsell advertising options or troubleshoot issues with ad content and placement. Collaboration with layout designers and editorial staff is common to ensure all ads meet deadlines and publication standards. This role is dynamic and requires balancing client support with technical accuracy to ensure reader satisfaction and advertising effectiveness.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Newspaper Classified position, and why are they important?

To succeed in a Newspaper Classified role, you need strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with newspaper layout and advertising standards. Experience with publishing software such as Adobe InDesign or proprietary classified ad platforms is highly beneficial. Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving abilities help set top performers apart. These skills ensure accuracy in ad placement, positive client interactions, and the effective coordination necessary for timely publication.

What jobs pay $2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can reach $2000 a day often include specialized roles such as surgeons, anesthesiologists, corporate lawyers, or senior executives, typically requiring advanced education, certifications, and significant experience. Freelance consultants, certain real estate agents, and skilled trades like pilots or specialized contractors may also earn this level of income with the right client base and workload.
