Fox TV Stations
FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX 5 Atlanta is a leading news organization dedicated to delivering compelling and high-quality news content to our viewers. We are seeking a highly motivated News Producer to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in shaping our newscasts.
The News Producer is responsible for gathering news and information for newscasts, actively deciding newscast content, and determining how stories are presented and placed within the newscasts. This role involves collaboration with various teams to create engaging and innovative news presentations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Line produce assigned newscasts and fill in on other newscasts as necessary.
  • Line produce unscheduled news coverage as needed and supervise associate producers.
  • Line produce programs or other content for digital platforms and live streams as assigned.
  • Prepare newscast rundowns.
  • Utilize a variety of storytelling techniques, devices, and studio stage locations to showcase news content compellingly.
  • Build graphic elements for use in the newscasts.
  • Collaborate with production staff to execute live newscasts and develop compelling presentations of newscast content.
  • Discuss story angles and newscast content with news managers, reporters, and assignment editors.
  • Collaborate with the digital team to identify digital and social media content for television newscasts, using production styles to maximize viewer interest and engagement.
  • Innovate non-traditional storytelling techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Computer literacy.
  • Proficient in writing conversational broadcast news copy under deadline.
  • Proficient in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and politely with the public in person and over the telephone.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Two years of experience producing television newscasts for broadcast on a commercial television station.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-74,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
