What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a new Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and why are they important?

To thrive as a new Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you need a high school diploma, completion of 40 hours of training, and passing the RBT certification exam to demonstrate foundational knowledge in applied behavior analysis (ABA). Familiarity with data collection tools, behavior intervention plans, and clinical recording systems is essential. Strong communication, patience, and the ability to follow instructions precisely are crucial soft skills for working effectively with clients and supervising BCBAs. These skills and qualifications are vital for delivering consistent, effective behavioral interventions and ensuring client progress and safety.

What are Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are paraprofessionals certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). RBTs primarily work with individuals with autism and other developmental disorders, helping them develop social, communication, and life skills. They collect data, follow strict protocols, and provide direct therapy under supervision. Becoming an RBT requires completing specific training, passing a competency assessment, and maintaining certification through ongoing supervision and continuing education.

What are some common challenges new Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) face during their first months on the job?

New RBTs often encounter challenges such as adapting to diverse client needs, mastering data collection methods, and effectively implementing behavior intervention plans. Building rapport with clients and maintaining consistent communication with supervising Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are also key hurdles. However, most organizations provide ongoing training, mentorship, and team support to help new RBTs develop confidence and competence in their daily responsibilities.

Artemis Aba Inc.

Artemis ABA Inc. is a technology company revolutionizing the ABA field through our proprietary, AI-powered platform—built entirely on Salesforce—streamlines clinical workflows, billing, scheduling, and compliance. Designed with ABA professionals in mind, Artemis delivers intuitive, scalable solutions that power smarter care delivery and operational excellence.

Job Summary

We are seeking a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a non-clinical, product-facing role on our Client Success team. This role is perfect for an RBT who wants to leverage their clinical expertise in a tech-forward environment. You will help onboard ABA clinics onto our platform, train staff, provide support, and ensure clients get the most from our software. While your RBT certification is essential, this role involves no direct therapy sessions—you'll be helping other ABA professionals use our platform effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Onboard new ABA clinics and guide them through our software setup and training process.
  • Provide responsive and knowledgeable client support related to clinical workflows in the system.
  • Use your ABA expertise to tailor software training and support to client needs.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to communicate client feedback and suggest feature enhancements.
  • Create and update user-friendly training materials, FAQs, and guides.
  • Represent Artemis ABA as a clinical expert in client success conversations.
  • Assist with client demos, webinars, and ongoing education sessions.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required.
  • At least 2 year of experience working in an ABA therapy setting.
  • Comfortable using ABA software platforms (e.g., CentralReach, Rethink, Catalyst).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interest in technology and software tools.
  • Previous experience in training, client-facing, or support roles is a plus.
Why Join Artemis Aba?
  • Use your RBT experience in a new, innovative way.
  • Be part of a fast-growing tech company supporting the ABA community.
  • Help shape the future of ABA software.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
