Job description

JOB TITLE

General Assembly Launch Specialist 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

   Support execution of new model launch activities including pilot builds and line trials.
   Act as bridge between Vehicle Engineering and shop floor to ensure accurate implementation of engineering requirements.
   Develop and maintain standardized documents such as OTS, JSC, P/Sheet, and SWIS.
   Assist in station allocation, work sequencing, and process validation for new model introduction.
   Support verification of parts, tooling, and equipment readiness during build events.
   Track and manage build issues, and support root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
   Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth build execution.
   Monitor and support hourly Meta Pro activities and assist with floor-level event management.
   Prepare work instructions with detailed visuals and ensure proper communication to production teams.
   Evaluate workability, ergonomics, and quality to ensure process meets production requirements.
   Participate in training of production team members and support skill transfer during launch phase.
   Support data collection and reporting for launch KPIs (quality, throughput, efficiency).
   Assist in continuous improvement activities related to launch and line stabilization.
   Support preparation of reports and presentations for management review.
   Meet all other requirements as assigned.
   Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to dynamic launch schedules.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:
   Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent or equivalent desired
   (Other) No reason for disqualification for overseas travel or stay
   3 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, fabrication and/or production environment
   3 or more years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes related to tool system
   Skills/Knowledge : MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint
Preferred:
   Experience in vehicle assembly processes and equipment of General Assembly division.
   Experience or knowledge of the new plant construction process.
   Up to 5 years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education in an engineering/industrial environment
   Up to 3 years of job-related experience working Lean Manufacturing with knowledge of lean principles
   Experience in vehicle assembly automation and automatic supply of assembly parts
   Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards (PFMEA, control plan, etc) 
   Good communication skills and excellent leadership skills

Travel Requirement
   Domestic / International travel required.

While in Office:
This position is primarily sedentary and requires working at a desk and computer for extended periods. Responsibilities may include:

   Ability to sit, stand, and walk within the office environment as needed
When in Production Area (if applicable):
   Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended durations
   Repeated lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and products (up to 25-30 pounds)
   Manual dexterity for handling power tools, machinery, or production equipment
   Working in environments that may be noisy, hot, or require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
   Ability to climb ladders or stairs and operate equipment safely and effectively
   Capability to learn and work on multiple production processes, as required
   Adequate visual and auditory abilities to identify safety hazards and communicate clearly
   Consistent and punctual attendance
   Ability to collaborate and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
